As a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer: You'll design and deliver engaging, practical teaching across Levels 3–7 (foundation to postgraduate), including our highly regarded degree apprenticeships. This isn't purely theoretical teaching—you'll:
- Teach modern practices in Artificial Intelligence (e.g. Data Analysis & Visualisation, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Computer Vision, AI Ethics, Governance & Responsible AI)
- Work with apprentices employed in industry, bringing real-world challenges into the classroom
- Design hands‑on projects and coding‑based learning experiences
- Help students build the skills employers actually need
You'll be part of a collaborative academic team that values innovation, industry relevance, and student success.
About You
We're looking for experienced computing professionals who are passionate about developing others, to join the Department of Computing and Mathematics. You’ll bring:
- An interest in mentoring, coaching, or teaching others
- A desire to share your knowledge and support student success
- The ability to communicate complex technical ideas clearly
- Significant industry experience is welcome or a PhD in Computer Science (or related field) is equally valued
If you are an expert in Artificial Intelligence, you may be currently working as a Quantitative Analyst, Research Data Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, MLOps Engineer, AI Governance Specialist or Mentor. Strong experience in applying AI or Data Science to real‑world problems.
