The predicted salary is between 13 - 16 £ per hour.

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role. The central Outreach team is seeking to recruit History, Politics and Philosophy (HPP) students to welcome groups of college students onto the Manchester Met campus as they take part in a History, Politics and Philosophy subject taster event.

The successful candidates will meet the students, accompany them as they attend a brief introduction to the School of HPP, followed by three 15-minute lectures based on a specific theme, and take part in a short Q&A. You will then join students as they are divided into three separate workshops (split into History, Philosophy and Politics) and assist the members of staff delivering a workshop/seminar activity. You will be expected to provide a positive and informative perspective on all aspects of studying at Manchester Met and being a part of the wider university community.

Responsibilities:
  • Direct visiting students from lecture theatres to breakout seminar rooms.
  • Support the academic leading the breakout workshop sessions.
  • Answer any questions about studying History, Politics, Philosophy and wider questions about students' lives. You can direct complex questions to Outreach and teaching staff.
Requirements / Qualifications:
  • This role is only open to current Undergraduate History, Politics or Philosophy students at Manchester Met.
  • Be outgoing and confident.
  • Good with young people.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to engage with staff and visitors.
  • A positive attitude to university life.
  • General knowledge of Information and Guidance and able to share own student life experiences.
