Position: AI Engineer (KTP Associate)
Based at: The Real Birth Company, Manchester
Salary: Up to £40,740
The role
An exciting opportunity has become available for a graduate to work full time on a 2-year Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) to develop enhanced data-driven capabilities within a digital maternity health platform, improving how personalised information is generated and used to support preparation, learning, outcomes, and service improvement across maternity care settings.
Employed and supported by an academic team from the University, you will be based at The Real Birth Company's premises in Manchester.
Qualifications
Hold, or be about to obtain, an honours degree (2.1 or 1st) or master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related discipline (or equivalent qualification).
Application Requirements
- Programming languages (Python, PHP, MySQL, etc) and API development (RESTful, GraphQL, etc)
- Deep Learning approaches (Multi-Layer Perceptrons, Recurrent Neural Networks, etc)
- AI Model Training and Deployment
- Natural Language Processing and Large Language Models
- Responsible, Ethical, and Explainable AI (SHAP values or LIME)
- Cloud and offline data storage solutions and the capability to create robust, efficient data architectures
- Full lifecycle Data pipeline management
- Data and information visualisation and User Interface design
- Commitment to excellence with independent and collaborative problem-solving skills
- Able to communicate complex technical information to non-experts and engage with stakeholders
- Multilingual
- Industry experience in Data Science projects, Project Management, and Regulatory Approvals
- Knowledge/interest in the healthcare and/or maternity sector
