Role Overview

This role is available only to graduates of Manchester Metropolitan University who completed an undergraduate course in June 2025 and are not currently or have previously studied at postgraduate level. The Content Assistant will support the Widening Participation (WP) team within Recruitment and Admissions by developing and maintaining the team's online presence. The position is based in the UK for the duration of the role, reports to the WP Officer, and is managed by the WP Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research the market for online content similar to advertising outreach activity.
  • Speak to young people and schools concerning an accessible website.
  • Create and update online accessible materials.
  • Explore opportunities to further develop online content.
  • Network with Marketing, Recruitment and Web Teams to learn about existing resources within the University.
  • Work with web designers to implement tweaks or changes to the WP website.
  • Support the WP team with the delivery of events and general administrative tasks.
  • Participate in assessment centre activities, including networking with Hiring Managers and group tasks.

  • Ability to work independently on projects.
  • Proactive, can‑do attitude and passion for working with young people.
  • Strong networking, researching and report‑writing skills.
  • Understanding of online creation and development.
  • Experience or interest in educational outreach.
  • Creativity demonstrated through previous work or application evidence.
  • Commitment to the University’s Inclusive and Diverse Culture strategy, demonstrated by respectful interaction with colleagues across all backgrounds.

Experience and Education

  • Graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University with an undergraduate degree in June 2025.
  • Not currently enrolled, nor previously enrolled, in a postgraduate course.
  • Experience working with young people is preferred but not essential.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to conduct interviews and meetings within the university.
