About us. Grind is a coffee company that was born in London, and now lives in Manchester! Since opening Shoreditch Grind in 2011, we've expanded across the city with cafés, coffee shops, trucks, and a state‑of‑the‑art coffee roastery. Now, we’ve opened our first location outside of London, in the centre of Manchester. Coffee is at the forefront of what we do and who we are. Whether it’s through sourcing avocado peel straws and recycled material containers on site, creating the UK’s first home‑compostable coffee pods, or using 100% plastic‑free packaging, we want to be the world’s most sustainable coffee company. We set up our own charity, the Better Coffee Foundation®, to undo the damage caused by the global coffee industry by recovering ocean‑bound plastic with every coffee pod, iced coffee can, and cup of coffee we sell.
A bit about the role. We are looking for driven and experienced floor staff who are passionate about the hospitality industry and progressing their career. The atmosphere in Grind is fast‑paced and vibrant, with a strong emphasis on quality service. As a Grind floor staff member, you will be quick on your feet, confident in delivering our Grind steps of service and never mind getting your hands dirty! To be eligible for this position, you will need to have some experience working in a restaurant (or similar) customer‑focused environment and have a clear understanding of what it takes to deliver 5‑star customer service.
Role responsibilities:
- Provide a memorable experience for any and every customer that visits
- Maintain a positive and friendly approach to colleagues and customers
- Possess a full understanding of Grind Steps of Service
- Deliver exemplary service in line with our Steps of Service procedures
- Adhere to company values and rules of professional conduct
- Wear full and correct uniform always
