The Post holder will act as an Associate Practitioner assisting HCPC registered staff within the biochemistry directorate. One post will work Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00 in the Specialist Biochemistry Laboratory. One post will work Monday to Friday 11:00 - 20:00 in the Automated Laboratory.
Responsibilities
- Assist HCPC registered staff within the biochemistry directorate.
- Assist the BMS by preparing and sorting patient samples.
- Load samples onto analysers.
- Perform routine instrument maintenance.
- Supervise medical laboratory assistants and trainee associate practitioners.
- Perform a number of specialised and non-routine tests and procedures to a high degree of accuracy and precision using manual pipetting with a variety of specialised sample preparation techniques.
