The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) is hiring a content design leader to shape how critical information is delivered to the public, supporting the UK’s mission to become a clean energy superpower.

About The Role

You’ll lead and develop the department’s GOV.UK content strategy, ensuring content is clear, accessible and meets the needs of users across a wide range of services. Working closely with senior stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams, you’ll shape how DESNZ communicates complex policy in a way that is simple, usable and impactful.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Developing and delivering a department-wide content strategy aligned to key priorities
  • Leading and managing a team of content designers
  • Driving large-scale content improvement projects across GOV.UK
  • Ensuring content is clear, accessible and user‑focused
  • Advising stakeholders and influencing decisions at a senior level
  • Improving processes, workflows and ways of working across the team
