APHA is looking for a Data Insights Lead to help transform how data is used to support services, policy and operational delivery.
About The Role
You’ll join the Data & Information Unit, playing a key role in improving how data is collected, analysed and used across the agency. Working with data specialists, IT teams and stakeholders, you’ll help deliver better reporting, insights and performance measurement to support decision‑making. This is a great opportunity to combine data expertise with team leadership, helping to shape new ways of working and supporting the organisation’s move towards more data‑driven services. Hybrid working is available, with around 60% of time spent in the office.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading and supporting delivery within the Data Insights team
- Analysing data and producing high‑quality reports and insights
- Developing dashboards, performance data and management information
- Using data to support operational, scientific and policy decisions
- Improving data processes, standards and reporting approaches
- Promoting the use of modern tools and automated reporting
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation
- Communicating insights clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience in data analysis and insight roles
- Experience building dashboards, models and data visualisations
- Proficiency in tools such as Power BI, SQL, Python or similar
- Understanding of modern data systems and reporting tools
- Ability to turn complex data into clear, actionable insights
