About the Role

You will be responsible for the management, optimisation, and reliability of our databases and data pipelines. Working closely with our team, you will ensure data is efficiently loaded, processed, and available for use across the business. This position is ideal for candidates who thrive in a data-driven, collaborative environment and want to make a tangible impact on business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, maintain, and optimise cloud databases
  • Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements
  • Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and delivery of large datasets
  • Improve and implement processes for loading, validating, and managing data sets
  • Ensure data security, integrity, and compliance with relevant standards
  • Automate routine database and data pipeline tasks to improve efficiency
  • Support the development and deployment of new data-driven products and features
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data solutions

Essentials About You

  • Must have: at least 5 years’ experience as a Data Ops Engineer/Database Administrator (DBA)
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with database optimisation and performance tuning
  • Strong practical skills in PHP, Python, SQL
  • At least 3 years’ experience using Athena, Glue, RDS, S3, Linux scripting
  • Experience with data modelling, data wrangling, schema design, and database security best practices
  • Ability to manage large, complex datasets and troubleshoot data issues
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively

Highly Desirable

  • Experience with automation and DevOps Engineer tools for database management and CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with data warehousing, OLAP/OLTP concepts, and modern data stack technologies
  • Worked with Geolocation data
