About the Apprenticeship Program:

  • 3 Year Degree Program studying towards a Digital Technology Solutions Level 6 Degree
  • You will spend at least 20% of your time on academic work (one day a week), with the other 80% spent gaining work experience and on‑the‑job training
  • Academic study will be delivered remotely
  • You’ll be supported throughout the programme with a dedicated academic tutor, regular check‑ins, access to study skills and wellbeing support, and workplace mentoring to help you succeed both academically and professionally
  • Depending on the study and group you join, you could rotate throughout your Apprenticeship giving you a wide range of experience across teams within Arm

What will I be working on?

Each team offers new point of view and a fresh challenge. Rotations vary depending on business needs and may change over time. To give you a sense of the kinds of work you could be involved in, example rotations may include:

  • Data Science – from Python projects to enabling AArch64
  • Machine Learning – analysing machine learning workloads
  • High Performance Computing – developing reference software stacks
  • Compilers – developing compilers in C++
  • Firmware – developing secure firmware
  • Linux Kernel – debugging and testing

Many are school or college leavers taking their first steps into tech, but we also welcome career‑changers and those bringing skills from different industries who are ready for a fresh challenge. Formal qualifications aren’t everything. What matters most to us is your passion, your potential, and above all, your curiosity. We’re looking for people who can tell us why tech excites them, where they see their future going, and why Arm feels like the right place to grow and build their career.

Entry requirements:

  • To hold, or be on track to achieve, 104 UCAS points by September 2026 (equivalent to BCC at A-level). We welcome A-levels, BTECs, other Level 3 qualifications, and the International Baccalaureate.
  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade C / Grade 4 or above (or equivalent)
  • To be eligible for apprenticeship funding, you must also:
    • Have lived in the UK, a British Overseas Territory, or the Isle of Man / Channel Islands for the three consecutive years prior to the apprenticeship start date.
    • Have the right to live and work in the UK for the full duration of the apprenticeship and for at least 12 months beyond the planned end date.
    • Not be enrolled on another apprenticeship or studying a course funded by a student loan.
    • Require new learning through the apprenticeship. This means you are not eligible if you already hold a qualification at the same or higher level in a closely related subject area.

A successful apprentice will:

  • have a keen curiosity about Software Development/Programming and Electronics
  • be able to explain why they’re interested in working in tech and specifically why they think Arm is the right place for them.
  • Enjoy solving problems and overcoming logical barriers
  • Hold excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
