Manchester Communication Academy is looking for a warm, approachable and committed Learning Support Assistant to join our team, working primarily within our new Year 7 block. This is a practical, pupil-facing role with a strong pastoral, family and community focus. While there may occasionally be a need to support pupils in lessons, classroom-based learning support is not the main focus of this post.
Instead, we're looking for someone who will become part of the everyday life of Year 7 a visible, familiar and trusted adult who gets to know our pupils and families and helps young people feel safe, settled and supported throughout their school day.
The role is about the everyday things that can make a big difference to a young person's experience of school: being there when they need help, supporting lunchtime and social times, helping pupils move safely around the academy, supporting road crossings where required, resolving everyday issues, and providing encouragement when someone is having a difficult day.
This role will be offered as a part time (20 hours per week). Term Time Only
Manchester Communication Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure for a Regulated Activity via the Disclosure and Barring Service.
