The Maintenance Plumber (known internally as Skilled Maintenance Operative) will be responsible for the delivery of plumbing maintenance services that support the operation of all sites on campus, setting and ensuring the highest standards of safety and maintenance for Manchester City’s employees and customers.
Your Impact
- Successfully diagnose plumbing issues and provide effective solutions at all MCFC sites, in line with MCFC procedures, legislative, environmental, and certifying authorities’ compliance and best practice.
- Carry out service and repairs, fault finding, and general maintenance in a safe and logical manner and to the highest standard.
- Work collaboratively with other trades and with the Maintenance Managers on Planned Preventive Maintenance and life cycle schedules for all buildings, to ensure high standard of project completion.
- Always demonstrate excellent communication skills and a customer-oriented approach.
What we are looking for
Essential
- NVQ Level 3 Plumbing (or equivalent).
- Strong demonstrable plumbing maintenance experience.
- Strong proficiency in all aspects of commercial plumbing and drainage, including: MCWS installations, BCWS installations, RHW installations, unvented point of use hot water systems, sanitary‑ware installations, legionella awareness.
- Strong proficiency in all aspects of commercial cooling and wet heating systems, including: CHW installations, LTHW installations, FCU, AHU.
Desirable
- Experience using CAFM software to complete PPM and reactive tasks.
- Understanding of BMS.
