Manchester City is looking for a Video Edit Assistant to support the delivery of high-profile video projects within the Men’s First Team environment. This role plays a crucial behind-the-scenes part in preparing content for senior editors, ensuring footage is well organised, logged and ready for use across long-form projects and social media outputs. This is a great opportunity for someone at the early stage of their career who is highly organised, detail-focused and keen to build experience within elite football media production. The role is not focused on creative editing quality – instead, it’s about structure, accuracy and supporting the wider post-production team by making their work more efficient.
Your Impact:
- Review, clip and time-stamp large volumes of video footage captured around the Men’s First Team.
- Log and organise content clearly so it can be quickly accessed by senior editors.
- Prepare footage packages and timelines ready for handover into the main edit.
- Support basic social media clipping where required.
- Maintain structured file management systems to ensure footage is stored accurately and consistently.
- Work collaboratively with editors and producers to meet production deadlines.
- Support post-production workflows by handling preparatory and organisational tasks efficiently.
What we are looking for:
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with video files, timestamps and structured workflows.
- Ability to manage repetitive tasks accurately and consistently.
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative working style.
- Confidence working in a fast-paced environment with deadlines.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from senior editors and producers.
- Nice to have: Familiarity with Adobe software (Premiere Pro or similar), experience handling video content through university, placements or early career roles.
