In this role you lead the physiotherapy and soft-tissue services for Manchester City Women, shaping clinical practice within a high-performance environment. You will manage a team, drive service planning and continuous improvement to support injury prevention, management and return-to-play. You collaborate with medical staff, coaches and players to safeguard availability and performance, aligning physiotherapy standards across pathways. You’ll use data and governance to inform decisions and develop practitioners.

Responsibilities
- Lead physiotherapy and soft-tissue services for Manchester City Women and its academy.
- Oversee planning, review and ongoing improvement of injury prevention, management and return-to-play processes.
- Provide clinical leadership using evidence-informed rehabilitation, injury surveillance and performance data.
- Maintain clinical governance: record-keeping, databasing, auditing and emergency action planning; coordinate specialist and contractor support.
- Collaborate with the Doctor, coaches, players and multidisciplinary team to enable clear decisions and promote player availability.
- Line manage, mentor and quality-assure practitioners; align physiotherapy standards across the pathway.
Key requirements
- recognised physiotherapy qualification
- registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and current CSP membership
- advanced emergency pitch-side qualification (e.g. ATMMiF or equivalent)
- experience in elite sport or high-performance environment with complex injuries
- experience leading service delivery and practitioner development (line management, supervision, mentoring)
- knowledge of evidence-informed injury prevention, rehabilitation and return-to-play; ability to use clinical and performance data to inform decisions
