Working Hours: 30 Hours, Part-Time. Contract Type: Permanent. Closing Date: 11.59pm, 4 February 2026.

Role and Requirements

The successful candidate will be supporting female service users with tasks to provide personal care. For reasons of privacy and dignity, this post is open to female applicants only and is an Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010.

Legal right to Work: In accordance with Home Office guidance, successful candidates must evidence their right to work in the UK before commencement of employment. This is not a role we consider to be eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route based on Manchester City Council policy. Candidates are therefore encouraged to consider their own right to work options without the requirement for Manchester City Council sponsorship.

Medical Clearance: Pre-placement health assessment (PPHA).

Qualification: To hold or be willing to undertake and achieve a Level 3 Health and Social Care Diploma (QCF).

DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance: This post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013). Appointable candidates will be required to apply for an Enhanced DBS check. Information provided will be treated confidentially and in accordance with the DBS Code of Practice.

Car Documentation: The successful candidate will be a designated Casual Car User which may require car journeys on an occasional basis. You must hold a full valid driving licence and provide your own car for work, as well as provide all appropriate documentation. You will receive an allowance per mile of business use.

Evidence of conduct in previous employment relating to health or social care or children or vulnerable adults. Proof of identity including a recent photograph. Full employment history.

Please note these vacancies will mainly be for the South Reablement Team and it will not be possible to transfer to the North or Central Teams. The South Reablement Team covers the following areas: Sharston, Baguley, Woodhouse Park, Northern Moor, Brooklands, Northenden, Newall Green, Chorlton Park, Didsbury East and West, Old Moat, Withington, and Burnage.

The Reablement team provides a life changing service by helping people regain or attain independence in their own homes. Our Reablement Support Workers motivate and inspire people to re-learn daily skills and enhance quality of life. You will be fully trained to assist people to meet care needs, including motivational support and personal care. This is a community-based role involving travel to client homes. You will work to individualised support/goal plans to encourage independence, and we promote tech equipment to help people.

This role involves shift work to meet citizen needs, typically 8.00 to 14.00 hrs and 16.00 to 22.00 hrs on a rota that includes weekends and bank holidays.
