The Daytime Support service provides varied and flexible assistance to adults with a learning and/or physical disability, older people, adults with an acquired brain injury and adults with sensory impairments. The service aims to make a positive difference to the lives of the people we support by promoting independence, health, wellbeing and choice in a person-centred manner.
Working as part of a team you will be required to take responsibility for the provision of high quality practical and emotional support and we believe that every individual has the right to achieve their full potential regardless of disability.
You Will
- Be responsible for the provision of person-centred support to individuals and groups to maintain and develop daily living skills, enable full participation in a range of activities and to support people to access various community activities.
- Provide support and assistance with personal care reporting signs of illness, injury or suspected abuse to the appropriate member of the team.
- Be responsible for the administration of medication.
- Be responsible for the provision of a stimulating environment for all citizens and encourage their participation in the running of the day centre.
- Assist the management Team to introduce new initiatives and changes in service delivery.
- Participate in staff development opportunities and training provided.
- Be willing to undertake a level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the provision of services that deliver equality, diversity and social inclusion.
Skills Required
- Communication skills - Ability to communicate clearly and effectively taking account of individual needs.
- Planning and Organising - Demonstrate the ability to organize multiple tasks and allocate resources accordingly.
- Problem solving and decision making - Able to use information, knowledge and analytical skills in a structured way to enable service delivery.
- Analytical Skills - Ability to understand moderately complex information and compare information from a number of different sources.
- Administrative Skills - A good level of literacy and numeracy skills to manage the maintenance of citizen records.
