Role Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Analyst within the Windows Server team in ICT service delivery. The team provides support for the entire Windows Server estate (physical and virtual) and associated technologies across multiple domains, including DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, Group Policy, load balancers, SSL certificates and infrastructure in our cloud environment.

As a member of the team you will identify and fix issues related to the supported technologies, carry out tasks for larger ICT projects, act as a technical liaison between internal clients and external suppliers, and ensure compliance with all IT service control processes such as incident, problem and change management. You will also produce and update technical documentation for the supported systems.

Responsibilities

  • Support and troubleshoot Windows Server OS 2016 and later, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy.
  • Maintain and configure load balancers and SSL certificates.
  • Operate and support infrastructure in both on‑premise and cloud environments.
  • Participate in large ICT projects such as cloud migration, printing solutions and operating system upgrades.
  • Work within ITIL processes including incident, problem and change management.
  • Generate and update technical documentation.

Technical Skills

  • Excellent knowledge of Windows Server OS 2016 upwards.
  • Proficient in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy.
  • Experience with M365/Azure technologies: infrastructure configuration, policy and monitoring.
  • Knowledge of load balancing technologies.
  • PowerShell scripting and Excel data manipulation.
  • Experience with vSphere and physical servers.
  • Fault‑finding in complex environments.
  • Experience with hyperconverged technologies (Nutanix).
  • Knowledge of IaC scripting (Terraform).
  • Knowledge of SCOM (System Centre Operations Manager).
  • ITIL qualified or willing to work towards certification.
  • Good practical understanding of core ITIL functions (CM/IM/PM/RM and CM).

Personal Skills

  • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work closely with suppliers.
  • Availability to work within an on‑call rota.
  • Forward‑thinking and adaptable to new technologies.
  • Experience building, maintaining and supporting complex server environments on‑prem and in the cloud.
