Overview
Manchester City Council is looking for an experienced and passionate Family Hub Locality Manager to lead the delivery of integrated services for children, young people, and families across Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and develop family support within local communities, ensuring that every child has the best start in life.
Working Hours: 35 hours per week. Contract Type: Full time / Temporary (12 Months). Closing Date: 05 February 2026. Interview Method: In Person (Face to Face). Interview Date: 12 February 2026.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Manage complex service delivery across multiple sites and deliver community-based services to children, young people and their families to ensure they have access to early support at the right time in the place where they live.
- Deliver across all aspects of the Best Start for Life Healthy Babies Programme, with specific focus on early language, parenting support, and the school readiness agenda.
- Oversee the coordination and implementation of Family Hub services, working closely with partners across health, education, and social care.
- Drive innovation, champion early help, and ensure services are accessible, inclusive, and responsive to local needs aligned with the Families First Partnership Programme and the Best Start for Life Strategy to deliver positive outcomes for the most vulnerable children.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Experience and knowledge related to Best Start for Life, Family Hub and Start Well Strategies and how these define approaches to supporting young children and families in Manchester.
- A minimum of 3 years\β experience in managing the delivery of early years and family services using evidence-based interventions, on a one-to-one and/or group basis.
- Understanding of the Family Hub Programme and DfE delivery requirements, with knowledge of co-produced, co-located service provision within communities.
- Experience in leading teams and coordinating cross-agency collaboration (health, education, social care).
