Application Support Analyst in the ICT Service Operations area of the ICT Department. This role supports a wide range of software packages, prioritises tasks, and ensures excellent customer service. The position is permanent, 35 hours per week, and interviews will be conducted in person. Closing date: 11.59pm, 9 February 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver support for various software packages
  • Prioritise tasks to resolve issues and provide excellent customer service
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
  • Oversee software upgrades and manage changes via the CAB process
  • Provide out‑of‑hours cover as part of a rota
  • Participate in Post‑Incident Reviews and liaise with ICT services to ensure system developments are tested appropriately

Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified to ITIL Foundation
  • Technical ICT skills gained from recent experience in an ICT environment
  • Ability to support and learn multiple software platforms, including MRI Revenues and Benefits (Academy), CivicaPay, NEC DM and manage upgrades via the CAB process
  • Strong communication skills, able to engage with staff, other IT teams, and third‑party suppliers in both technical and non‑technical terms
  • Able to attend CAB meetings to explain technical questions on upgrades or changes that require outages
  • Participate in Post‑Incident Reviews to explain major outages and the resolution process
  • Be able to work flexibly according to the needs of the team and business areas, including working on a rota basis to provide out‑of‑hours cover

Requirements

  • Right to work in the UK before commencement of employment – no eligibility for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route
  • Three references with a 3‑year history if possible
  • Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance
  • Evidence of ITIL Foundation qualification
