Requirements
- Degree (Hons) in Occupational Therapy
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- At least 2 years experience working as an Occupational Therapist
- Pre-placement health assessment (PPHA)
- Essential Car User – must hold a full valid driving licence and provide your own car
- Enhanced DBS check (applicable to all candidates)
- Proof of identity, recent photograph and full employment history
Responsibilities
- Develop and shape a new Learning Disability Occupational Therapy role within the \’My Life My Way\’ transformation programme.
- Deliver impactful therapy interventions to maximise independence and enable choice and control over clients’ lives.
- Support the transition of people with learning disabilities in and out of council accommodation.
- Work closely with provider services, learning disability social workers and community health services.
- Conduct functional assessments, recommend sensory and environmental adaptations, technology-enabled care solutions and safe handling practices.
- Maintain HCPC and RCOT standards and produce comprehensive reports in a timely manner.
