About The Role

Working Hours: 35 Hours per week (Some very occasional and weekend work required.)

Contract Type: Full Time / Temporary (Until 31st July 2026)

Additional Payments: Casual car user allowance

This role is subject to

  • Casual Car Documentation – The successful candidate will be a designated Casual Car User which means that car journeys may be necessary on an occasional basis, but are not essential to the role. If you do drive, you must always hold a full valid driving licence and provide your own car for use at work, as well as provide all the appropriate documentation. You will receive an allowance per mile of business use.
  • DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance – this post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013). Appointable candidates will be required to apply for an Enhanced DBS check. Information provided by you or the DBS will be dealt with in a confidential manner and in accordance with the DBS Code of Practice. We have a policy on the Employment of Ex-Offenders and it is available upon request.

Children and Young People Kickstarter proposal for Making Manchester Fairer has provided the opportunity for Early Years’ Service to recruit to a time limited (Until July 2026) Early Years Outreach Worker Role.

The Early Years Outreach Worker role will work as part of a team in an integrated way with a range of partner agencies and services taking a team around the school approach to support schools to achieve improved good level of development outcomes for children. The role will involve direct work with families and the delivery of evidenced based interventions that have a proven track record in improving children’s learning outcomes.

Early Years’ Service has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who have experience of and are passionate about improving outcomes for children and families across Manchester. We are looking for someone who has excellent communication skills and able to communicate with a wide range of individuals from various backgrounds including families and Schools. We are looking for someone who can take a flexible approach when meeting the needs of families and partner agencies, someone who can work as part of a team but can also work on their own initiative.
