  • Driving Licence – The successful candidate should hold a full clean manual driving licence as you will be required to drive a vehicle adhering to council regulations.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Facilities Management teamworking within the Workplace Delivery service.The position will involve contributing towards the general maintenance and cleanliness of buildings alongside logistical movements across the estate.

You will be highly motivated andorganised, with the ability to plan andprioritiseyour own workload when dealing with reactive issues. Multiple applications, systems and associated software packages will be useddaily,therefore ICT skills are desirable but not essential as full training will be given.

Your Main Responsibilitieswill Include

  • The directing ofFacilities Assistants (Level 1 & 2) to ensure all cleaning tasks are carried outin accordance withour procedures and standards. You willmonitorthis by conducting regular site visits, completing site audit forms, and liaising with building users.
  • Effectivelymaintainingthe internal and external appearance and cleanliness ofbuildings and the immediate surrounding areas, carrying out inspections, liaising with customers and reportingidentifiedissues.
  • Manual Handling of loads usingappropriate equipmentincluding the driving of vehicles requiring a normal driving License.
  • Undertake Minor Repairs including some working at height and use of small hand tools.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and independently to ensure safe working environments and practices, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Undertaking of building based safety inspections and legal compliance safety checks such weekly Fire Alarm tests.
  • Carrying out all tasksin accordance withprocedures and to the required qualitystandards to deliver acustomer focusedservice.

You must be available to work shiftpatterns within our core hours of 06:00 and 19:00.

The Facilities Management team is part of the Corporate Estates team andis responsible for various differenttypes of buildings citywide. We are committed toprovidingexcellent service and surpass buildingusersexpectations by ensuring environments are:

You will be invited to attend an open morning to find out more about our cleaning role and answer some questions so we can get to know you better. If you are successful on the day, you will be asked to provide all information required to conduct the relevant pre-employment checks.

You will contribute towards the goals of the team through the provision of high quality and responsive facilities management. We are looking for a candidate that canprovidea flexible, seamless,customer focusedservice whilst undertaking a variety of tasks to ahigh-qualitystandard.

You willbe requiredto drive a Manchester City Council vehicle to visit varioussites, andwill therefore hold a full clean manual driving license.

This postis also subject to the Disclosure and Barring (DBS) Enhanced Certificate of Disclosure, due to various work locations.
