We currently have two vacancies. The first is at the Town Hall Extension, Lloyd Street M2 5DB. This covers Monday-Friday from 5pm to 7pm – 10 hours per week.
The second is at Hammerstone Road, covering Monday to Friday, 6am to 9am – 15 hours per week.
The Facilities Assistant Level 1 role is a cleaning role, providing a cleaning service across the city of Manchester. The Housekeeping team is part of Corporate Estates team and is responsible for the building cleaning service across the Estate.
Responsibilities
- Carry out cleaning tasks as directed, including hoovering, mopping, polishing, cleaning toilets and emptying bins. All cleaners have a list of tasks to follow each day, which can vary by location.
- Work alone or as part of a team, depending on the building.
- Ensure buildings are clean and ready for the day ahead, with cleaning service hours typically from 6am until 7pm, Monday to Friday, varying by vacancy.
- Attend an open morning to learn more about the role and answer questions; if successful on the day, provide information required for pre-employment checks.
What we provide and what you need
- No prior experience needed; full training is provided to carry out each task safely and to the best standard, using the equipment and chemicals provided.
- Uniform provided; you would only need to provide adequate footwear.
- Buildings to be cleaned include depots, schools, libraries, offices and homelessness accommodations within the Council’s estate.
