This Role Is Subject To

  • BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) clearance – this post is subject to BPSS checks.   • DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance – this post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013). Appointable candidates will be required to apply for a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Join our fast‑paced Charging Team, as a Case Management Officer

The Charging Team sits within the Revenues and Benefits Service Area, working closely with Adult Social Care to assess the financial contributions that vulnerable adults make towards the cost of their care services.

We are looking for motivated and detail‑focused people to join us as Case Management Officers.

We are a fast‑paced team handling communications from a wide range of sources. The role involves supporting Manchester residents by completing financial assessments for individuals requiring and receiving care and support in both residential and non‑residential settings. You\’ll manage a daily caseload from start to finish, reviewing and prioritising any ongoing or outstanding cases, communicating confidently with both social workers and care workers, and vulnerable people who may be going through a difficult time.

As a Case Management Officer, You Will

  • Use a range of ICT systems to obtain, verify and record financial information.
  • Communicate effectively with vulnerable residents, their families, and a variety of professionals to gather the information required for financial assessments.
  • Work to tight deadlines within a busy and fast‑paced environment.
  • Manage regular customer contact through letters, email, and telephone.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to Manchester residents while working in a high‑profile area and demonstrating Our Manchester behaviours.

Please note that most initial training will take place face‑to‑face at our office at Alexandra House, Hulme, Manchester. The location benefits from local amenities including a leisure centre, supermarket and free parking.

You must be willing to travel to Manchester City Centre for training and to other sites across Manchester where required.
