This rewarding role involves face‑to‑face work with Manchester's homeless community. Longmire is a 12‑bed mixed accommodation that is fully accessible for clients with restricted mobility. You will support clients through regular sessions, identifying support needs around benefits, bank accounts, substance misuse referrals, mental health, budgeting, formal ID acquisition, and personalised support plans, ultimately facilitating their transition to suitable long‑term accommodation. This role offers a 3‑week rota of early, late, and cover shifts, including Saturday or Sunday, with a 6.7% flexibility payment on top of wage.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide empathetic, client‑centred support to address homelessness.
- Assist clients in accessing benefits, bank accounts, drug/alcohol and mental health referrals.
- Create personalised support plans and track progress toward long‑term accommodation.
- Maintain accurate records of client sessions and support actions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and community partners.
- Demonstrate flexibility and resilience in a fast‑paced environment.
Qualifications and experience:
- Passion for ending homelessness, strong people skills.
- Experience in social support, case management or related field preferred.
- Reliable DBS clearance (standard or enhanced) required.
- Capacity to work flexible hours, including weekends.
- Knowledge of local services and legislation relating to homelessness.
- Experience with budgeting and financial planning for clients is beneficial.
