About The Role:

As a Logistics Manager, you will lead the day-to-day delivery of Portering and Security services across the South Warwickshire Foundation Trust estate. You'll be responsible for ensuring safe, compliant and high-quality service delivery that directly supports patient care, operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

The role is responsible for managing large operational teams, maintaining service standards, ensuring regulatory compliance, and building effective relationships with clinical teams, contractors and key stakeholders.

The Logistics Manager plays a key role in driving service improvements, managing resources and budgets, analysing performance data, and ensuring the effective delivery of Security, Portering, Car Parking and Post Room services.

This permanent, full-time position will be based at South Warwickshire Foundation Trust, with an operational on-site presence required.

As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the day-to-day management of Portering and Security services across the Trust estate.
  • Manage and develop large operational teams, including supervisors, permanent staff, agency workers and bank staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, procedures and industry standards relating to security and portering services.
  • Develop strong working relationships with clinical teams, patients, visitors, contractors and Trust stakeholders.
  • Monitor service quality through audits, inspections, customer feedback and performance reporting.
  • Manage staffing levels, rota planning, attendance, performance management and recruitment activities.
  • Lead investigations, appraisals, training and personal development activities within the teams.
  • Prepare and analyse KPI, operational and financial performance reports to drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage departmental budgets and identify opportunities to improve service efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Maintain oversight of CCTV operations, incident management, security procedures and liaison with emergency services.
  • Lead service improvements across Portering, Security, Car Parking and Post Room operations.
  • Respond to operational incidents, emergencies and changing service demands, making decisions to ensure service continuity.

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

  • Right to Work in the UK and willingness to undergo a DBS check.
  • Significant management experience leading large operational teams within Facilities Management, Healthcare Support Services, Security or Logistics environments.
  • Experience managing both Security and Portering services or similar operational functions.
  • Proven leadership experience managing large operational teams.
  • Strong knowledge of governance, compliance and risk management.
  • Experience managing budgets, workforce planning and resource allocation.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyse operational performance data and produce reports.
  • Experience conducting appraisals, performance reviews and development planning.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills in a fast-paced operational setting.
  • Computer literacy, including Excel, reporting and presentation tools.
  • Ability to lead change, influence others and drive service improvement initiatives.

Desirable:

  • Experience working within NHS or healthcare environments.
  • Understanding of NHS operational standards and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Security Industry Authority (SIA) requirements.
  • Experience managing multiple service lines within a healthcare setting.
  • Understanding of portering management systems.
  • Relevant management qualification or working towards one.
  • Experience of managing security operations within a patient-facing environment.
