About the Role
Days of Working: This is a mobile, multi-site role, requiring flexibility to support operational needs around various school sites. Shift patterns will vary depending on site requirements. A split shift is normally 6am to 8am and 4pm to 7pm.
As a Mobile Cleaner, you will play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for our clients, colleagues and visitors across OCS sites. You will deliver high standards of cleaning and hygiene in line with agreed specifications, health & safety requirements and company values. This role is responsible for carrying out day‑to‑day cleaning activities, ensuring that all assigned areas are kept to a consistently high standard, while providing a professional and customer‑focused service at all times.
Responsibilities
- Travel between multiple client sites within an assigned area to deliver cleaning services as required.
- Ensure all sites receive cleaning services in line with agreed specifications and schedules.
- Safely transport and manage cleaning equipment, materials and supplies between locations.
- Carry out deep cleans, cover absences, or respond to short‑notice requirements where needed.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and report any issues or site concerns promptly.
- Adapt to different environments, layouts and client requirements across sites.
- Carry out basic equipment checks and report any faults or shortages.
- Represent OCS professionally when working independently across client locations.
- Comply with all lone working, health & safety and company procedures at all times.
Qualifications
- Right to Work in the UK and willingness to undergo a DBS check.
- A full UK driving licence and use of own vehicle (where applicable).
- Flexibility to travel and work across different sites and shift patterns.
- Previous cleaning experience in a commercial, public sector or similar environment (desirable but not essential).
- A good understanding of cleaning methods, equipment and materials.
- Awareness of health & safety and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good attention to detail and a pride in delivering high standards.
- Reliable, punctual and flexible approach to work.
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures effectively.
Desirable
- Experience working within Facilities Management (FM) or contracted cleaning services.
- Knowledge of COSHH or safe use of cleaning chemicals (training can be provided).
