To support the traffic and logistics manager to coordinate all traffic, logistics and parking operations for the NEC Campus, including resource management and daily operations. The Traffic and Logistics Planner will line manage and develop the two traffic office coordinators and work closely with OCS colleagues, the traffic supervisors and reporting into the Campus Traffic and Logistics’ Manager.

Main Duties & Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Monitoring systems used by the traffic and logistics department including the following systems: Voyage control, Traffic Database, Speed check database, Genetec, Timegate.
  • Identify and collate training requirements and records for the department.
  • Collate financial documents in support of events traffic & carpark revenue.
  • Communicate with events staff on any necessary departmental information including event vore and training.
  • Evaluate current processes and procedures and develop new strategies and ideas to work more effectively within the business.
  • Be on site to manage the team when the campus is at over 50% capacity and the manager is not available.
  • Support the manager to ensure the casual workforce is managed effectively, this includes identifying recruitment, liaising with the scheduling department and HR.
  • Identify recruitment channels with the contract support team.
  • Manage and develop the traffic office coordinators.

Health and Safety:

  • Communicate regularly with colleagues through formal and informal channels on safety matters to ensure that there is a flow of ideas, and that morale remains high.
  • Ensure that the OCS safety image is reflected positively through your actions and those of your colleagues.
  • Ensure that personal H&S competence and skill level is maintained i.e., attended Managing Safety programme and other Company safety events.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring that plant and equipment is maintained and fit for purpose.
  • Ensure that work activities are properly managed and supervised.

Education:

  • Level 3 qualification or higher

Professional Qualifications required for the job:

  • IOSH
  • NeBOSH (Desirable)
  • CCTV Licence (preferable)

Experience:

  • Experience of working in a traffic function.
  • Financial administration.
  • Experience in an event environment.
