About The Role: Shift Pattern: Ranging from days, nights and weekends - shift work

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Administer the client Permitting System, including client and tenant engaged contractors.
  • Be the first point of contact for any client escalation in respect of Permitting across the site while on duty.
  • Be the trusted advisor to the client and onsite team in respect of Permitting and informed decisions while on duty.
  • Oversee control systems to prevent or deal with violations of legal guidelines and internal policies.
  • Revise procedures, reports etc. periodically to identify hidden risks or non-conformity issues.
  • Follow company policies, toolbox talks and procedures.
  • Work closely with client representative reporting on near misses, accidents etc against our SLA’s.
  • Review the work of contractors when necessary to identify health and safety and compliance issues and provide advice or feedback.
  • Prepare reports for senior management as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular audits and follow through to close out of any actions raised.
  • Work closely with the client on internal and external audits.
  • Cover helpdesk out of hours and raise jobs for onsite engineers via clients CAFM system.
  • Any other duties that may be required to facilitate the efficient operation of the Permit office, or as instructed by the Operations Manager.
  • Covering for other members of the team as required during holidays & sickness.

Requirements:

  • IOSH level certification or higher H&S qualification.
  • Proven experience as a permit officer or similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of the industry’s standards and regulations.
  • In depth knowledge of Fire Reform & Building Safety Act knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • In depth Health and Safety knowledge.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to work alone within an office environment.
  • Administration skills, including use of CAFM system and Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel.
  • Experience of using facilities-based systems.
  • Be comfortable supervising sub-contractors onsite and reporting to the management team any issues raised.
  • Extensive knowledge of the legal requirements of building services and statutory requirements.
  • Experience within an FM, building maintenance or building services organisation, with a broad understanding of the general principles of FM and experience of using CAFM Systems.
  • Being able to deal with emergency situations as and when required.
