This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join OCS's compliance function as a Data Protection Analyst. Working closely with the Data Protection Officer (DPO) and the wider Data Protection & Compliance team, you will play an active role in supporting OCS's data protection obligations under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist with the processing of data subject access requests (DSARs), erasure requests, and other rights requests.
- Maintain accurate records and logs of all requests received and actions taken.
- Support the review and maintenance of OCS's Records of Processing Activities.
- Engage with internal stakeholders to capture and update data processing information.
- Ensure the ROPA remains accurate, complete, and up to date.
- Assist in the completion of Data Protection Impact Assessments for new projects, systems, and processes.
- Identify and elevate privacy risks in collaboration with the DPO.
- Support the review and update of data protection policies, notices, and procedures.
- Assist with the recording, investigation, and reporting of data breaches and near-misses.
- Assist in the review and maintenance of Vendor Questionnaires for third-party suppliers.
- Conduct due diligence checks on suppliers' data protection practices.
- Compliance – client site audits & OCS office audits for ISO27001 compliance.
Skills and experience required for the role:
- Good computer literacy skills.
- Experience with Microsoft tools such as Teams, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
- An understanding of UK GDPR and data protection awareness.
- High level of integrity and accountability.
- Good organisational skills.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Genuinely curious about data protection, privacy law, and information governance.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- A proactive, ‘can-do’ attitude and willingness to learn.
- Able to travel nationally.
