Role overview: This role is primarily focussed on supporting our OCS Group colleagues which sit within the wider OCS corporate function. The HR Manager is responsible for the full employee lifecycle process from supporting people managers with recruitment activities and managing the onboarding of colleagues through to a colleagueβs departure and offboarding. The role is also responsible for supporting on any ER related matters, change management projects and ensuring compliance with the OCS Academy (LMS). The HR Manager will be based in our Ipswich head office with occasional travel to our London Group head office, providing in person HR support to people managers; and will support the Head of HR β Corporate & Transformation with wider HR projects, workstreams and initiatives where needed. The HR Manager will need to build and maintain trusted working relationships with people managers and senior management to ensure that HR needs are not just met, but that they are delivered with excellent levels of service and in a timely manner, always working in partnership with management colleagues.
Key tasks & responsibilities
- Support people managers with HR advice and guidance on all people related matters, including high-risk, complex ER cases and providing in-person support when required.
- Managing the onboarding and offboarding of colleagues including right to work checks, producing all the relevant documentation and liaising with the necessary departments to ensure complete and accurate records.
- Working with the L&D team to ensure full access and compliance for Group colleagues to the OCS Academy.
- Provide monthly reports on agreed people related metrics to the Head of HR β Corporate & Transformation.
- Provide guidance and support on restructuring/change activity.
- Design and deliver training on HR topics to improve management capability and awareness.
- Support the IR and Engagement Strategy including identifying and implementing colleague engagement initiatives and lead employee engagement forums.
- Work with resourcing teams on recruitment initiatives.
- Support people managers with talent development and succession planning initiatives.
- Collate and analyse data to make strategic decisions.
- Support the Head of HR β Corporate & Transformation on continuous improvement of HR compliance and HR processes by proactively identifying trends, risks or opportunities across corporate functions.
- Provide the senior management teams proactive advice and support to deliver effective people management.
- Support the Head of HR β Corporate & Transformation with wider HR projects, workstreams and initiatives, and the implementation of their HR strategy.
- Be a champion of change β support new initiatives and change management activity positively, always demonstrating behaviours in line with OCS TRUE Values.
Required Experience
- L7 CIPD or Associate CIPD or working towards.
- Ability to advise and support people managers with complex ER cases.
- Experience of managing change and culture initiatives.
- Proven experience of identifying and implementing HR initiatives to add value.
- Experience of working with / supporting Head Office functions including advising senior management.
- Ability to travel to London when required.
- Ability to manage multiple activities with differing priorities and timescales within a fast paced and changing environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable Experience
- Facilities Management Industry experience.
- Development of HR reporting / analytics.
- Experience of managing a Learning Management System.
