About The Role:

Working Days: Monday - Friday, 6‑10 am

Start of Contract: January 5th, 2025

SEF is recruiting Cleaning Operatives to deliver high‑quality customer service to students, staff and visitors. The role focuses on maintaining a high standard of cleanliness within academic buildings in line with the Service Level Agreement, supporting day‑to‑day facilities services and contributing to a positive student experience.

As part of your role, your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform thorough cleaning of academic spaces including classrooms, corridors, stairwells and communal areas using appropriate methods and materials.
  • Carry out floor care routines such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and polishing of floors, using manual and powered equipment.
  • Clean and sanitise washroom facilities, ensuring toilets, sinks, mirrors and surfaces are hygienically cleaned to a high standard.
  • Use specialist cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, carpet cleaners and steam cleaners safely and effectively.
  • Dust and wipe down surfaces and fixtures, including maintaining cleanliness of desks, windowsills, skirting boards and other high‑touch areas.

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

  • Must have Right to Work in the UK.
  • A DBS will be completed for the successful candidate.
  • Previous cleaning experience.
  • Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to use cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
