About The Role:
Working Days:4pm to 9pm Monday to Friday
As a Facilities Support Services Assistant in the public sector, you’ll be doing a bit of everything to keep things running smoothly. You’ll follow cleaning schedules, making sure everything is safe and hygienic, and handle waste properly, including clinical waste. You’ll also help transport patients around the facility, collect soiled linen and refuse, and support the catering team to ensure the environment stays clean and safe. It’s a varied role that requires good communication skills and some relevant experience or qualifications, like a Level 2 in Housekeeping or Basic Food Hygiene. Plus, you’ll get all the training you need to do a great job!
As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limitedto:
- Carry out cleaning program/schedules as required by the supervisory staff Observe all safety practices including the prevention of cross infection using colour coded equipment.
- Observe clinical waste procedures disposing of household waste as directed by domestic supervisors.
- Transportation of patients to and from wards and departments by wheelchair, trolley or on foot
- Collection of soiled linen, refuse and clinical waste, ensure correct storage, replace bags, ensure security or clinical waste bins.
- Catering – To contribute to the delivery of Catering Services in the hospital and ensure a clean, safe and hygienic environment.
The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:
- Must have Right to Work in the UK.
- An enhanced DBS will be completed for the successful candidate.
- Good communication skills.
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Level 2 in Housekeeping or working towards.
- Level 2 in Basic Food Hygiene Certificate or working towards.
- Knowledge of COSHH, induction and on-going training.
