We’re looking for an experienced Facilities Manager to lead the delivery of Soft FM services across community and locality healthcare sites for East London NHS Foundation Trust. Reporting to the Contract Manager, you’ll take a hands-on role overseeing service performance, compliance, and people management to ensure safe, clean, and fully compliant clinical environments. You’ll play a critical role in supporting frontline healthcare services, working in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment where quality, safety, and people truly matter.
As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Manage the day-to-day delivery of Soft FM services including cleaning, waste, pest control, washrooms, window cleaning, and grounds maintenance.
- Lead and develop supervisors and operational teams across multiple sites.
- Ensure full compliance with NHS Cleaning Standards, IPC requirements, and Health & Safety legislation.
- Act as the main point of escalation for service issues, audits, and complaints.
- Monitor KPIs, audits, and performance data to drive continuous improvement.
- Build strong working relationships with NHS stakeholders, clinicians, IPC and estates teams.
- Support recruitment, training, absence management, and performance processes.
The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:
- Must have Right to Work in the UK. An enhanced DBS will be completed for the successful candidate.
- Proven experience managing Soft FM services, ideally within healthcare or regulated environments.
- Strong operational and people management skills across multi-site contracts.
- Sound knowledge of NHS cleaning standards, IPC, and compliance frameworks.
- Confident handling audits, complaints, and performance issues.
- IOSH Managing Safely (or willingness to achieve).
- Good IT skills (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Full UK driving licence.
