About The Role:
As an Event Steward, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of events by managing crowd safety, assisting customers, and monitoring for any signs of distress or conflict. Reporting to the Event Manager, you will be responsible for the health, safety, and comfort of customers during their stay, making sure they have a positive and enjoyable experience.
Stewards are the face of our venues, offering customer service to all our visitors. This role is predominately based at Utilita Arena Birmingham (B1 2AA) and BP Pulse Live Arena (B40 1NT), where you will be supporting with shows, concerts and exhibitions.
As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Checking tickets to ensure only authorised individuals enter the event
- Assisting and seating customers, providing directions and information as needed
- Managing crowd safety and queue management to ensure orderly and safe movement of people
- Monitoring visitors for signs of distress, conflict, or those in need of medical assistance, and responding appropriately
- Ensuring the health, safety, and comfort of customers during their stay
- Communicating effectively with other event staff to ensure seamless coordination
- Providing excellent customer service and addressing any queries or concerns from attendees
- Adapting to changing situations and handling high-pressure scenarios with calm and focus
