About The Role

Shift Pattern: Varied rota across 7 days - depending on events including evenings and weekends. Reporting into the Senior Security Manager - Arenas, the security event manager will plan and deliver events at the BP Pulse live arena and the Utilita Arena Birmingham (UAB) and coordinating all security related matters on events. This role will work closely with the wider NEC security teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the security event management function for allocated events, from planning to delivery and post event reporting.
  • Complete security event management administration on time and to the correct standard, including forecasts, costings, dot plans, security risk assessments and invoicing.
  • Manage the relationship with NEC event management team.
  • Build relationships with external partners including but not limited to the NEC Group, Local authority, campus tenants and emergency services.
  • Constantly review processes for efficiencies and smarter working.
  • Liaise with the client, trade association and other forums to ensure best practice and effective service delivery.
  • Support with the management of the casual workforce, this includes identifying recruitment, liaising with the scheduling department and HR.
  • Provide management direction for the frontline Arena teams, i.e., standards, culture and performance.
  • Communicate regularly with colleagues through formal and informal channels on safety matters to ensure that there is a free flow of ideas and that morale remains high.
  • Ensure that personal H&S competence and skill level is maintained i.e. attended Managing Safety programme and other Company safety events.
  • Management experience in major event security operations.
  • Proven experience in the development and implementation of major event planning.
  • Proven experience of leading large scale workforces.
  • Major event experience.

You Should Meet The Following Criteria

  • All applicants MUST have right to work in the UK.
  • SIA Door Supervisor
  • SIA CCTV License Level 3
  • Spectator safety Level 4 spectator safety (Desirable)
  • First Aid at Work
  • IOSH & NeBOSH (Desirable)
  • Project Management Experience in the events or conference sector
  • 2 years' experience in security management
  • Diploma or certificate in Security Management of equivalent field (Desirable)
  • Flexible working - The arenas are event driven. Evening and weekend working will be required.
