About The Role
Working within EMCOR UK who are now part of OCS UK & I group.
Job Purpose
Responsible for carrying out scheduled and reactive maintenance, repairs and small installation works to fire detection and alarm systems.
The person will require a skillset biased towards fire alarms, but knowledge of security systems would be advantageous to provide a reactive response to CCTV, access control and intruder alarm systems to multiple clients.
Knowledge of various manufacturer products and protocols is desirable and previous experience of working with large commercial clients would be an advantage.
- What you’ll do
- Carry out planned preventive maintenance activities to fire alarm systems.
- Investigations and system repairs to fire alarm systems, with response to security systems when required.
- Modifications in line with contract requirements.
- Prepare dilapidation reports on newly acquired contracts and advise or recommend improvement, additions or reductions.
- Provide system improvement support and quotation delivery in accordance with relevant British Standards.
- Maintain a strong working relationship & communication between the client, colleagues and helpdesk.
- Maintain the Service Portfolio's to the highest quality standard in all areas of activity in order to satisfy and maintain the requirements of external quality verification.
- Comply with policies relating to health, safety, security, environmental and technical compliance issues that affect customers and employees, ensuring that all rules are adhered to at all times to maintain a high standard of discipline at all times.
- Ensure risk assessments are completed or reviewed for every task being carried out.
- Comply with the mandatory requirement on wearing PPE.
- Ensure all works are completed in accordance with relevant British Standards and good working practices.
- Ensure timely submission of documentation, as detailed in the engineer's policies or required by the company/client.
- Who you’ll be
- Proven experience maintaining and repairing fire alarm systems.
- Adequate knowledge of the latest British Standards.
- Diagnostic and fault-finding skills, with the ability to resolve by elimination and/or technical recommendations.
- Knowledge and experience of permits to work systems, method statements and risk assessments.
- Awareness of good Health & Safety practices.
- Valid full driving licence, preferably clean.
- Ability to follow PPM schedule to deadlines and time scales.
- Understanding of asset collation.
- Able to ensure all reactive work is carried out within service level agreements.
- Training will be provided to address any identified development gaps.
