About The Role
3AM shift, 3PM shift, 1 day off. We are currently recruiting for a Train Coordinator to support at our client’s site. As a Train Coordinator at OCS, you will play a crucial role in providing safe, clean environments for those using the train services. The overall purpose of this position is to control from the desk the operational cleaning process for the day; it is a highly challenging position and you must gain good IT skills and knowledge of a couple of computer programs.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Setting up the computer and programs (Web Gemini, Darwin, Open Train Times).
- Switch on the Site phones and check on any information left from day before.
- Print daily Simplifiers, Team Leaders daily sheets, phones signing sheet, platform countdown sheets.
- Update the Simplifiers with the daily Head codes and Fleet numbers.
- Make sure Radios and Team Leader’s phones are working perfectly, charge them if necessary.
- Log any sickness or absence in the Absence Logbook and report immediately to Supervisor or Manager.
- Communicate and delegate to any of the Group’s Team Leaders a Train before any Train arrives in the Station, ensuring teams have enough time to reach the platform before the train arrives and designate a level of cleaning depending on the circumstance and availability of times before passengers boarding.
- Log in the simplifier any special information during the day, finishing team times, log any cancellation/reports from Controller or operatives and report to the supervisor or Manager of any important information.
- Cover any vacancy in the rosters if the supervisor is not available.
Additional duties
- As a coordinator, you are responsible for the opening and closure of the site, and the security of our office when your supervisor or manager are not on site.
- Check the previous Coordinator hand over report and act on any important request or report to Supervisor once arrive on site.
- Get in touch with main Network Rail controller and find out about any Out-stables, delegate and make sure this is getting clean.
Key Skills and Qualities needed
- Provide a good and polite communication with visitors, customers and work colleagues.
- Provide excellent Customer service skills.
- Flexibility on mornings and afternoons as rosters vary weekly.
- Help to control the stock and consumables when supervisor is not around.
- Make sure every team has the correct equipment (hoovers), phones and the Team Leader sign IN and OUT for this; report to your supervisor or manager if this is not happening.
- Allocate trains to the teams equally and fairly.
