Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all delegated Reactive Works orders and PPMs are completed within the contract-defined time SLAs & KPIs.
- Provide a significant contribution to overall efficiency, effectiveness and contract profitability.
- Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks under supervision or independently, including minor joinery, painting, and plumbing work.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of buildings, grounds, and public/staff areas, including debris removal.
- Conduct basic landscaping and groundskeeping duties and clearing walkways or snow.
- Assist skilled tradespeople with specialised tasks or operate basic tools and equipment safely.
- Manage materials and supplies, ensuring proper use and storage.
- Perform minor repairs on furniture, fixtures, or equipment, including assembling, painting, or replacing components.
- Escort sub-contractors ensuring compliance and security of the estate and buildings.
- Support the site supervisor and team with the implementation of an integrated approach for the delivery of all contracted services.
Essential Hiring Criteria
- Basic technical skills relevant to construction or maintenance.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Physical stamina for manual labour, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Communication skills for interacting with supervisors, team members, the public and clients.
- Familiarity with tools and equipment such as power tools and hand tools.
- Successfully achieve and maintain disclosure Scotland clearance to operate in a government facility.
- Prior experience (essential).
- Clean drivers licence (essential).
- IPAF – Desirable.
- PASMA – Desirable.
- L8 ACOP – Desirable.
- Legionella Awareness – Desirable.
- Sound knowledge of understanding safety documentation.
- First Aid – Desirable.
- Experienced skills in Carpentry, Painting Decorating, Carpet/Lino repairs, Tiling, ceiling grids/tiles minor plumbing works.
- Basic IT skills (essential).
