Key Responsibilities

  • Control and communicate expenditure and maximise income to achieve or exceed budgeted financial performance.
  • Ensure the effective management of Projects commercial processes and work closely with the projects teams to drive value.
  • Understand the Contract, ensuring that the contract team (both operational and commercial) properly identify and price contract variations and create clear persuasive arguments to achieve proper payment.
  • Ensure adherence to contract obligations.
  • Mitigate KPI penalties through robust operational performance data analysis and reporting.
  • Assess, record and advise managers on risks and opportunities that may influence financial performance.
  • Review contract terms and conditions for any new business opportunities and contract variations identifying key commercial risks and preparing legal summary as part of tender sign-off process.
  • Develop and implement commercial strategies to achieve business objectives.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
  • Monitor project costs (Events) and revenues.
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations for cost optimisation.
  • Oversee the commercial and financial administration of the contract.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
  • Manage contract variations, claims, and disputes.
  • Identify and assess commercial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor and manage risks throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
  • Oversee Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) processes.
  • Ensure the delivery of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and manage financial levers and applications.
  • Support the Contract manager in managing Compensation Events (CE) and Early Warning Notices (EWN) to ensure timely and effective resolution.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Attending client meetings.
  • Submission of Contract Variations.
  • Risk management.
  • Generation and submission of various reports.
  • Supporting WIP, PPM PO renewals.

Essential Hiring Criteria

  • Competent in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Degree educated in a commercial/business/surveying discipline and/or relevant professional qualification.
  • Relevant experience working within both complex facilities management contracts.
  • Understanding of CCS and NEC4 frameworks in facilities management sector.
  • Experience in providing commercial/quantity surveying support to construction and engineering projects.
  • Previous knowledge of reviewing different contract commercial models including target cost, fixed price, cost reimbursable.
  • High level of commercial awareness including knowledge of current contract legislation.
  • Prior commercial experience is preferable.
  • Quantity surveying/Law/Accounting and Finance background preferred (not mandatory).
