The role: As a Maintenance Operative, youll be part of a team that is responsible for proactively ensuring that the Airfield Maintenance Unit asset base, equipment, services and facilities remain operational within specified safety, legislative, quality and performance standards and targets. Youll undertake planned and reactive maintenance work on airport infrastructure to ensure optimum availability and serviceability of assets which meet agreed service levels and provide a trouble-free operational environment for our customers, whilst accurately recording management information data for work carried out. Youll also be communicating with Customers, Service Partners and Line Management and participating in projects and working parties.
What will make you successful in the role? Youll ideally be qualified to NVQ2 in a relevant civil engineering discipline, with experience in carrying out surface repairs in both concrete and asphalt materials and operating plant i.e Tractors, sweepers, paint spraying machines. The ability to carry out first-line maintenance, inspections and repairs. The marking out and refreshing of the Apron and Runway ground signage will be a substantial part of the daily duties so experience in this type of activity would be beneficial. It is essential that you have experience of working in a similar capacity on a large commercial/industrial site where a similar range of multidiscipline engineering asset and facility maintenance is undertaken. A full UK Driving License is essential.
