You will be working for a governing body based in the heart of Central London. This role will operate on a hybrid working model with an expectation to be in their London office 3 days per week with the remaining 2 days as WFH.

This role will be working in close collaboration with the Employee Relations manager and wider HR leadership team to play a pivotal part in the strategic programme of change, both in HR and the wider organisation. Acting as the Policy Expert for the organisation, this role will have full autonomy and ownership of HR policies.

Key duties include:

  • Implementing a comprehensive review programme to streamline the entire HR policy framework, with a focus on simplifying and scheduling amendments in line with forthcoming legislative changes.
  • Establishing robust relationships with stakeholders, both within and outside the organization, collaborating with other Subject Matter Experts, Employee Voice groups, HR, and Trade Unions.
  • Taking the lead in internal communications, both in written and verbal form - crafting policies and committee papers for presentation to leadership and board members.
  • Offering direct support and guidance to the HR team on crucial business matters related to Grievances, Sickness Absences, and Recruitment.

What you’ll need to succeed:

For this role, we seek a communicative, legally astute HR leader. The ideal candidate should have an extensive understanding of UK employment law, legislative trends, and impending changes. While being fully responsible for HR Policy, they should possess the ability to collaborate effectively and advocate change across diverse workstreams, projects, and business units. Their goal should be to establish a solid framework of people policies that will guide this distinctive organisation on its path of transformation in the years ahead.

You will also need:

  • A relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification holding Chartered Membership of the CIPD (MCIPD), or able to demonstrate an equivalent in-depth and up to date knowledge of employment policies, practices, employment law and regulations, ACAS guidelines and extensive experience of their practical application gained through significant experience of the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • A project management qualification or significant experience delivering HR projects which involves working with SMEs, corporate stakeholders, trade union and staff representatives.
  • Proven experience working at a senior level in HR within a complex, diverse, multi-sited and unionised work environment, providing HR advice and guidance at senior management level, on all aspects of HR policies and procedures and terms and conditions of employment.
