The Management Accountant supports the organisation by delivering accurate financial reporting, insightful analysis, and strong commercial guidance. This role ensures financial performance is understood, controlled, and improved, enabling strategic decision-making across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monthly Management Accounts Prepare, analyse, and present monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting Lead the budgeting cycle, produce rolling forecasts, and support departmental budget holders.
  • Financial Analysis Provide variance analysis, trend reporting, and commercial insights to drive performance.
  • Cost Control Monitor costs, identify inefficiencies, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations Maintain accurate reconciliations and ensure financial integrity.
  • Cashflow Management Support cashflow forecasting and liquidity planning.
  • Business Partnering Work closely with operational teams to interpret financial data and influence decision‑making.
  • Process Improvement Identify opportunities to streamline reporting, enhance controls, and improve efficiency.
  • Compliance & Audit Support Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with policies and standards.
  • Systems & Reporting Maintain financial systems, develop dashboards, and improve reporting tools.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Part‑qualified or fully qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
  • Strong experience in management accounting, ideally within a commercial or operational environment
  • Proficiency in Excel, ERP systems, and financial reporting tools
  • Experience producing management accounts, budgets, and forecasts
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills
