How to prepare for a job interview at Mana Education
✨Know Your SEN Stuff
Make sure you brush up on your knowledge of special educational needs (SEN) before the interview. Familiarise yourself with different conditions like Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), SEMH, and PMLD. This will show that you're not just passionate but also informed about the challenges and needs of the children you'll be supporting.
✨Showcase Your Experience
Be ready to discuss any relevant experience you have, whether it's from previous roles in care work, youth work, or even sports coaching. Use specific examples to illustrate how you've successfully supported children or young people in the past. This will help the interviewer see how your background aligns with their needs.
✨Demonstrate Patience and Adaptability
During the interview, convey your calm and patient approach. You might be asked situational questions, so think of scenarios where you had to adapt your methods to meet a child's unique needs. Highlighting your flexibility will reassure them that you can handle the dynamic environment of a classroom.
✨Ask Thoughtful Questions
Prepare some insightful questions to ask at the end of the interview. Inquire about the school's approach to inclusion or how they support their staff in dealing with challenging behaviours. This shows your genuine interest in the role and helps you gauge if the school is the right fit for you.
