Position Summary

The Senior Investment Writer role is a position within the firm’s Global Marketing team, responsible for producing the firm’s corporate, investment, marketing and branding content. The writer will work alongside the Head of Content to support and deliver the firm’s branding and sales objectives through the production of regular investment commentary across the firm’s investment engines, and assist in the generation and editing of select written content for distribution in traditional, digital and social media. The senior investment writer will work closely with multiple points of contact across the business, including portfolio managers, investment teams, sales, communications, client operations and management, to develop and drive forward an ongoing pipeline of articles and publications. This is a 12-month fixed term contract.

Responsibilities

  • Edit, draft and produce thought leadership in long and short form, across multimedia (including articles, videos, infographics, market insights, press editorials and social‑media posts)
  • Manage the editing and publishing process: collaborate with business teams, including investments, compliance, design, digital and channel marketing colleagues
  • Develop proficiency with Man Group’s content management, compliance and data visualisation/chart‑design software
  • Generate compelling ideas for content that highlights the value of the investment offering
  • Ensure content reflects the brand voice and messaging
  • Tailor content for institutional, wealth and intermediary client segments, with a growing understanding of the sophistication level and nuances of each audience
  • Provide insightful, data‑informed recommendations to maximise impact of content across promotional channels
  • Stay up to date on relevant financial news

Qualifications

  • At least two years of experience in content marketing and investment thought leadership writing for an investment manager or hedge fund
  • A university degree at BA/BSc level or higher
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence stakeholders
  • Experience collaborating across marketing, investments, sales and product teams
  • A current knowledge of, and keen interest in, financial markets, investing and economics
  • Exceptional attention to detail, as a copy editor and when reviewing charts/numerical analysis
  • Intellectual curiosity and creativity, with the skill to transform technical concepts into simple, clear and concise messages to deploy across different media types
  • Superlative editorial judgment, to ensure the firm speaks to its different audiences in their voice and the ability to write to garner press interest
  • A commercial mindset, with deep experience with marketing equity, fixed income and alternative asset classes
  • Driven, self‑motivated, growth mindset, with strong problem‑solving skills and a collaborative approach; demonstrated ability to multi‑task, effectively managing multiple projects, stakeholders and competing objectives
  • Data proficiency: ability to use data to create visualisations and suggest strategy shifts to increase the effectiveness of content
  • Understand and implement regulatory and compliance requirements/regulations
