The role:

This role sits at the heart of Asteria's investment operations, between strategy and execution. You will help bring new products to market by ensuring documentation, regulatory requirements, and systems are ready for a smooth launch. Day to day, you will oversee investment activities across internal and external managers, keeping everything aligned with our objectives and risk parameters — and step in to support order placement and rebalancing when needed. The role also carries strategic weight: strengthening our investment oversight framework and acting as a key liaison with the Risk team, Boards, committees, and senior management on governance, risk, and performance matters. It demands both precision and perspective — and offers the chance to shape how we operate and grow.

Responsibilities:

  • Product Development — Support new product launches end-to-end: reviewing investment documentation, ensuring regulatory compliance, coordinating with ManCo, Man teams, and fund administrators, and managing fund registration and passporting in line with distribution strategy.
  • Investment Oversight — Monitor investment processes and performance across internal and external managers, challenging underperformance, style drift, and mandate breaches. Develop and maintain the oversight framework including KPI/KRI dashboards, escalation protocols, and periodic deep-dive reviews.
  • Risk Coordination — Work closely with the Risk team to review and interpret risk, performance, and compliance reports. Coordinate remediation plans, track issue resolution, and ensure data quality across risk tools and systems.
  • Investment Management — Manage day-to-day cash and portfolio transactions, place ETF and fund orders, and execute rebalancing activities in line with Investment Committee decisions and approved portfolio models. Act as back-up for the wider team.
  • Outsourced Provider Monitoring — Oversee delegated portfolio managers and distributors, from onboarding due diligence through to ongoing performance and compliance monitoring.
  • Governance & Reporting — Prepare materials for Board and committee meetings, document key decisions and follow-ups, and produce standardised reports for Group stakeholders. Serve as Deputy Chair and active member of the Investment Committee.

Skills / Background:

  • Experience in investment risk, investment compliance, or governance roles (e.g., risk officer, oversight manager, ManCo, regulator, or trustee environment).
  • Strong analytical abilities in portfolio risk, performance measurement and interpretation of complex investment data and communicate key messages.
  • Deep understanding of the full investment lifecycle and strong appreciation of investment and operational risk.
  • Knowledge of the Asset Management environment and role of each stakeholder.
  • Ability to design, implement and scale oversight processes, operating models, and controls across asset classes and jurisdictions.
  • Strong documentation discipline and ability to record decisions, follow-ups, and audit-ready evidence.
