Job Profile Summary:

Join Man Group's Identity and Access Management (IAM) team as an Apprentice. IAM sits within the broader Information Security function and is responsible for making sure the right people have the right access to the right systems at the right time. This entry-level role is designed for individuals who are curious about technology, security and how a global financial services business works behind the scenes. Reporting to the IAM team, the Apprentice will learn on the job whilst studying the Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship. The 15-month programme (12 months of training plus a 3-month end-point assessment) covers business administration skills that will support the apprentice both in this role and throughout their career. We are looking for someone enthusiastic, well-organised and keen to learn. No prior technical knowledge is required — full training and support will be provided.

Responsibilities:

  • Support User Access Requests: Help process day-to-day requests for system access, working through tickets and following team processes to make sure requests are handled accurately and on time.
  • Help with Joiner, Mover and Leaver Activities: Assist the team with setting up access for new starters, updating access when people change roles, and removing access when people leave the firm.
  • Support Access Reviews: Help the team run regular reviews where managers check that their staff still need the access they have. This includes preparing materials, chasing responses and tracking outcomes.
  • Respond to Queries: Help manage the team's inbox, ticket queue and Slack channel — answering straightforward questions and escalating anything more complex to senior colleagues.
  • Support Audits and Documentation: Help gather information when auditors ask questions about access controls, and contribute to keeping team documentation and guides up to date.

About the Apprenticeship:

The Apprentice will study the Level 3 Business Administrator qualification alongside the chosen training provider and will be given full support in achieving the qualification. This is a 15-month fixed-term apprenticeship role offered as part of Man Group's School Leaver Programme, with the potential to move into a full-time role following successful completion of the programme. Senior colleagues will provide guidance, mentoring and clear explanations along the way — no prior experience of IAM or specific tools is expected.

Collaborate on Projects: Work alongside experienced IAM analysts on team projects and improvement work, gaining exposure to how identity and access management runs in a financial services firm.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Strong interest in starting a career in technology, security or financial services.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-organised, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks at once.
  • A problem-solving mindset and willingness to ask questions.
  • Comfortable using everyday office tools (e.g. Microsoft Office, Outlook) and keen to learn new systems.
  • Reliable, discreet and trustworthy — able to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • A positive, collaborative team player.
  • Familiarity with technology or cyber security concepts is a plus but not required.

To Apply You'll Need:

  • The right to work in the UK
  • To have lived in the UK or EEA continuously for the past 3 years
  • Not to have previously studied the course content
  • Not to undertake any other qualification during your apprenticeship
  • To be able to apply your learning to your role

Apprenticeship Programme Details:

  • Qualification: Level 3 Business Administrator
  • Duration: 15-month programme (12-month training, 3-month apprenticeship assessment)
  • Apprenticeship Assessment: Knowledge exam, project and presentation, and portfolio-based interview
  • Who's it for? Entry-level — perfect for school leavers, those at an early stage of their career, or individuals looking for a new professional challenge
