Job Profile Summary
The Business Manager will provide support with business development and strategic planning initiatives and will interact with the business to understand their requirements and work with them to give proposed solutions. Manage the business’ research providers and associated commercial negotiations.
Responsibilities
- Translate the strategic objectives of the business into defined project plans
- Conduct regular meetings with research, technology and other team leads and stakeholders to evaluate the status of projects and assess a new project’s impact on resource allocation
- Provide monthly reporting in relation to the status of projects to enable prioritisation discussions, identify and elevate issues when required
- Work with team leads to provide guidance on project prioritisation
- Support business and financial planning
- Relationship manage third party research services in the UK, NY & HK
- Point person internally & externally
- Setting up new agreements & monitoring existing agreements
- Negotiating fees & terms of agreements
- Tracking existing agreements and spend to keep in line with our annual budget, and ensure there is no overlap in service
- Rationalising providers and reducing costs where possible
- Liaising with compliance, commercial management & legal regularly
- Coding all research invoices and approving for the business
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong academic record with a degree from a leading university
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Proven experience engaging with senior management
- Experience of leading projects or workstreams
- Strong analytical ability
- Advanced skills in MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint)
- Strong work ethic, self-starter with ability to multi-task
