Purpose of the Role
We are seeking a Business Manager to support the Chief Technology Officer and senior leaders within the Technology Management Committee in business development and strategic planning initiatives. The Business Management team is responsible for the operational management of the department, supervision of the budget, delivery of internal and external communications and events, and implementing strategic department-wide initiatives. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where you will translate ideas into reality, drive key initiatives, and make a tangible impact across the Technology department.
Responsibilities
- Collaborating with senior management to understand and support the evolving needs of the department, turning big-picture objectives into actionable project plans.
- Conducting operational, business, and competitor analysis, clearly presenting your findings and insights.
- Developing training and development programmes focused on specific skill sets.
- Preparing board packs and presentations to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring information is presented clearly and concisely.
- Driving efficiency by spotting opportunities for process improvements and implementing changes that increase productivity and drive growth.
- Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including overseeing our branding and communications.
- Helping to organise and run department-wide events like townhalls, conferences, and offsites.
- Building strong relationships with key partners across teams like Finance, People, Talent, Legal, Marketing, and Procurement, ensuring our needs are understood and raising issues where necessary.
Key Skills & Experience
- A strong academic record.
- At least 4 years' applicable work experience.
- Proven experience leading and delivering projects.
- Strong communication and presentation skills - you are comfortable engaging with senior leaders.
- Strong analytical mind with an eye for detail.
- Advanced skills in MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint).
- A self-starter with a strong work ethic who can juggle multiple priorities with ease.
