Summary of the Role

Competitive salary, depending on experience. Based at our site in Thornaby, UK with regular travel throughout the UK required. As a Heavy Crane Operator you will be responsible for independently carrying out lifting operations using telescopic cranes, including assembly and dismantling of cranes, performing maintenance on cranes and supporting equipment, and ensuring work schedules are completed safely and efficiently. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this is a full-time, permanent position based at our Teesside office. Travel throughout the UK will be required as part of the role.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Maintaining the external and technical condition of assigned cranes, equipment, and materials.
  • Preparing cranes for operation, including extending outriggers, assembling and dismantling ballast, reeving cables, and connecting safety systems in strict accordance with manufacturer instructions and company policies.
  • Operating cranes safely and efficiently, including driving them to and from work sites where required.
  • Complying with and implementing all safety procedures in accordance with company, equipment, and customer requirements.
  • Following the instructions of the Supervisor and ensuring that every lifting operation is planned and executed safely.

What You'll Need

  • Valid Blue CPCS Card with the relevant crane categories.
  • Proven experience operating cranes with a lifting capacity of over 200 tonnes.
  • Good standard of written and spoken English.
  • Valid UK driving licence including category CIE.
  • Desirable: CPCS Slinger/Signaller qualifications.
  • Knowledge of LOLER, BS 7121 and other relevant lifting standards.
